The last Saturday in March saw the most recent gathering of The Funding Network (TFN), a group of philanthropic individuals who come together to support charities and social enterprises. TFN is a unique and innovative forum for people who want to donate to a good cause to be connected with organisations trying to catalyse social and environmental change.
The event was held at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London, and saw six charities and social enterprises pitching their diverse projects to the assembled philanthropists. Carbon Retirement was one of the organisations presenting – and managed to raise over £5,000 in the process.
Carbon Retirement co-founder and director Jane Burston said, “Not only am I delighted that we achieved such a huge amount of support at the event, I’m also really pleased to have been part of the process. It was an inspirational morning, and something I would recommend to anyone who donates money to charity and wants to hear about new ideas and know that their money is going to make a difference."
The next London meeting of The Funding Network is on 5th May and will focus on social entrepreneurs in the UK and abroad. To attend, register on The Funding Network website, which also has details of how to submit a project.
