Our offsets meet the UK government quality assurance scheme

The quality assurance scheme for carbon offsetting is a government led initiative to increase consumers' understanding of the role of offsetting in tackling climate change, and help them to make informed purchases of good quality offsets.

The credits we buy (European Union Emission Allowances, or EUAs) and our calculation methodology meet the scheme's specifications and the government has awarded our offsets with the quality mark.

Note that the government has decided only to accredit carbon offsets that include a calculation of the emissions that are offset, so our 'known amount' option, where you enter the amount yourself, is not covered by the scheme. The credits are exactly the same and we will follow the same method for buying and retiring them.
