About the company

Carbon Retirement was launched in 2008.

We had been following the rapid development of the market for project-based offsets. While some projects seemed to be delivering environmental and social benefits, it was difficult to measure the emission reductions.

Clear emission reductions are the most important thing a carbon offset should deliver, and we wanted to provide a service focused on doing that.

Our aim is to provide a simple and cost effective channel for individuals and companies to retire allowances from the EU Emission Trading Scheme. This method is accurately measureable and transparent.
